Black & White 2010 are you ready for the exciteMINT? Stay tuned...
From the 2009 B&W Chair and Vice Chair:
On behalf of the Young Affiliates, we would like to extend a giant thank you to those who attended, volunteered, and/or supported the Black & White Gala on Thursday, November 5th. For those of you that could not make it, the event was a huge success!
The event took place at the Holiday Inn Center City. Around 260 guests enjoyed dancing to the sounds of The Swingin' Richards, taking fun photos, courtesy of Shutterbooth, and listening to guitarist Kelly Mullen on the rooftop. Our VIP guests mingled in the posh lounge with specialty food and desserts and pianist Mike Willis.
Our silent auction included over 70 items generously donated from local vendors. The auction raised about $7,000. Our sponsors, in kind donors and swag bag donors played a large role in making the event happen. Even in the midst of a difficult year for fundraising, we were able to raise over $5,000 for children's summer art camp scholarships at the Mint Museum.

A fashionable fete inspired by Truman Capote's celebrated masquerade ball of 1966, the Black and White Gala will launch Charlotte's season of giving in style on Thursday, November 5, 2009. For the seventh year, the Young Affilates of the Mint will continue this wonderful tradition with event proceeds sponsoring children to attend art camps at The Mint Museum.
